Step One – Visit LinkedIn and click ‘Sign Up’ (https://goo.gl/nLfsav).
Step Two – Enter your first name, your last name, business email and a password. Once you have correctly filled out your details; pess, ‘Join Now’.
Step Three – If prompted, complete any additional steps. Add your postcode, job title, company, add your interests and then confirm your email.
Step Four – Above the page there are six categories; home, my network, jobs, messaging, notifications and me. Select ‘Me’ and press ‘View Profile’ under your name.
Step Five – Here you will need to upload a background photo. The measurements for a background photo are, 1584px X 396px. After adding your background photo, you can then reposition it. Once you are happy with the selected photo, size and position, press save.
Step Six – The next thing you’ll want to do is click the pencil icon under your profile picture. Once you’ve clicked the icon, you can then add your first and last name, a headline, your current business position and your education (education is optional).
Step Seven – After filling in those blank spaces, you will want to scroll down. You will notice a few more details that require your business information. Be sure to add your country (Australia), business zip code, locations within that selected area, industry and then a summary about your business.
Step Eight – Before clicking upload, you have the option to link media to your profile. Whether it be a document, video or image, you can add a link to your profile. This can can help people visiting your profile learn a little more about you and what you do.
Step Nine – Once you have filled in the information correctly, press save.
Step Ten – On this step, scroll down your profile until you reach a section called, ‘Featured Skills and Endorsements’. Select this section for editing. In this section add any skills that you may have. The experts at Madigan Marketing recommend you add as much as possible.
Step Seven – Under the ‘Featured Skill and Endorsements’ you will find ‘Accomplishments’. Press the blue + icon and add all your accomplishments.
Step Eight – Your account is now complete. You can now follow other users with related business content and create a few posts.
